Newborn sessions with Fawn Lily Photography are held in Studio at 1134 N Flexman Cres, Regina SK. They are for immediate family members only (grandparents may join in for the family portion for an additional fee). Please note that the studio is a small room in my home.
A Newborn Session with Fawn Lily Photography includes a family (or sibling) portion to start. Following this, all siblings and extra people will be invited to leave the studio (the remainder of the session is long, hot, and boring). Baby will then be swaddled for a wrapped and prop portion. Finally, the session will conclude with baby posed nude on a smooth blanket or backdrop.
NEWBORN SESSIONS HAVE A $350 SITTING FEE (THAT INCLUDES ALL MENTIONED ABOVE AND A $100 PRINT CREDIT FOR YOU TO USE TOWARDS YOUR DIGITAL PACKAGE OR PRODUCT PURCHASE FOLLOWING YOUR SESSION).
How to Prepare
GETTING READY FOR A PHOTO SESSION CAN BE OVERWHELMING. FORTUNATELY, NEWBORN SESSIONS WITH FLP ARE EASY TO PREPARE FOR.
Please refer to our specific correspondence for outfit ideas. For general ideas on how to dress for a photo session, please visit my Pinterest Board. Please avoid clothing with logos, words, and characters. Instead, look for clothing this is nice, simple, and compliments the colours of season or your home. For Newborn Sessions, a recommend a monochromatic colour palette. I will typically use a white set and/or a dark gray backdrop, so either white or black outfits are best. If you have young children, please bring along extra diapers, wipes and a small snack of two. It is also a good idea to bring along a favourite attention grabbing toy or a mobile device ready to do with baby's favourite song.
At the time of the session, I will do my best to engage you and to have a good time together; however, it is your job to do your best to contain and settle your little ones (siblings). I am easy going and the session should be smooth sailing. If things start to go a bit off, please try and remain as calm and fun as possible. Children tend to pick up on our emotions and perpetuate the issue.
Newborn Sessions should be done within two weeks of birth. No poses are guaranteed; everything is done according to baby's direction. To best prepare your new baby for a successful session, please keep baby up a little bit prior to coming in (do NOT stress about this, if it doesn't happen, it is no big deal), please dress baby in a sleeper (NOT something that needs to be pulled over the head, and plan on a good feed before we start (at home, in the car, or in the studio). You will need to feed baby at the studio so please bring whatever you need in order to do that. Please bring along a soother (unless you are morally opposed to them - they have the power to make things go much smoother). And, don't worry about flaky skin or belly button stumps. Be prepared to spend about 3.5 hours in the studio.
Your session fee is $350 + tax. It is due at the session and is payable through email transfer to fawnlilyphotography@gmail.com, through paypal, or by cash or cheque (to Sarah Jenkins). You will receive an emailed copy of your invoice prior to your session date.
WHAT TO EXPECT FOLLOWING YOUR SESSION:
Session turnaround is estimated at 3 weeks.
When your edits are completed, an email will be sent to you with a link to open your gallery. In the gallery, you are provided with a $100 print credit (it is automatically applied to your account). There is a shopping cart where you can place your order. The gallery is live for 10 days.
If you choose to purchase digital files, a downloading gallery will be prepared and posted for you. It usually takes about 2-3 days to get the downloads posted.
To print your images, I highly recommend that you print through me as I use a calibrated, professional lab for all products. If you chose to print third-party, I cannot guarantee the print quality, nor can I troubleshoot you through your print order should you have problems.
Please make sure that you save you digital images securely (in at least two places). I do NOT keep client photos indefinitely and am generally unable to re-upload downloading galleries at a later date. Galleries are live for 10 days, after which point they expire. Please download and save your images promptly. If your gallery expires, or you lose your images (and I still have them), there is a $50 fee to repost an archived gallery.
POLICIES
Following your session, I provide a social media sneak peek. This will usually be posted 3-7 days following your session at the following locations: Facebook, Instagram. If you would like to opt out of the social media sneak peek, please let me know. If you chose to opt out of social media posting, you will relinquish the sneak peek option. Please tag, share, and comment on your images! My business is primarily maintained through word of mouth so it is a huge service to me if you do these few simple things which allow your friends and family to see the beautiful images we created. If you do not interact with the posts on social media, Facebook has made it really tough on small businesses to be seen. Please share the images within the means provided by the platforms (ie. the SHARE button) and not by right-click-saving the images or taking screen shots of them.
Please remember that both sneak peeks and images that your purchase are copyrighted to Fawn Lily Photography. You have the right to print the digital files and share them as you'd like, but you do not have the right to alter or edit them (including instagram filters).
Within 3 weeks of your session, you will be emailed a link to view your gallery online. Galleries typically contain 30+ images. Once you have access to your gallery, you can place your image order. I provide digital images, canvases, albums, wall art, cards, and all kinds of goodies. Your session fee includes a $100 print credit which will automatically be applied to any purchase you make in the shopping cart.
In the event that you, or I, are unsatisfied with the images due to unforeseen weather, equipment failure, or photographer error, a retake may be issued. Under normal circumstances, refunds are not issued - due to services rendered. Retakes are generally not issued due to a difficult of misbehaving child, pet, or other subject, poor outfit choice, or lighting issues (if my recommended session time was disregarded. All that stated, if you find yourself unhappy with your image of any reason, please communicate that to me, and I will try and remedy the situation. I want you to loves your images.
All images included in the gallery will be fully edited for white balance, exposure, lighting, background, and basic retouching of flaws. If you request editing above and beyond the scope of my normal workflow, a $25/hour charge will be issued. If a family member has a temporary flaw (bruise, scratch, etc) that you would like retouched, please let me know at the time of the session. All images remain property of Fawn Lily Photography. Final images are selected at the Photographer's discretion. Unedited (or raw) images will not be provided. All images may be used in present or future advertising, marketing, and portfolio work.
